Sunny Deol has finally got luck on his side. Bollywood is ready to believe that Sunny is the number one today with back-to-back box-office blockbusters Jeet , Ghatak , Ziddi and Border and to some extent Ajay which did excellent  business in certain territories. Before his back-to-back resounding hits he had flops like Himmat , Dushmani , Angrakshak , Imtihan and Insaniyat which made producers think twice about casting him in their films. But Ghatak restored Sunny Deol to his original status as a successful box-office superstar . Now all eyes are on Sunny Deol whose recent blockbusters has given him much edge in the market. The fan following that Deol has today began to build up from Paap Ki Duniya and , perhaps , he is the only star in the  contemporary Hindi film scene with a growing fan following in the urban and rural cinema pockets. Teenagers and Adult follow him because they think they can chase his car in Bombay because they have fallen in love with his muscles and those of his fans who have conversed with him are doubly smitten because of his charming conversational ability and his politeness . In the North, his rustic fans treat him like a demi-god . His film premiere are tumultuous affairs in the interiors centers.

According to to prominent distributor like Ramesh Sippy , today the top three stars are Sunny Deol , Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan but the difference between them is that even Sunny flop film fetches a extraordinary initials in the first week and recovers their cost , which is not the case with the two Khans.  The same was the case with Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra during the 1970s and 1980s that their flops films used to fetch a grand initial.

As far as talent is concerned Sunny is on a different ground . He really posses depth. He's capable of being " different ". Remember his earlier films? Betaab and Sohni Mahiwal. Certainly there was a difference in the quality of performances but in both one felt a breath of fresh air. He really wanted to be different. He began not as anti-mafia dons but as loyal romantics . After a long time grand passion raised its head in our bullets-and-clowning ridden cinema.

For instance , Deol gave a very individual performance in Yateem as the step-son of Sujata Mehta who lusts after him. In Ghayal , he was a killer but a possessed one , but drove through the film with lash-like force.
