Fakira , Kalicharan, Charas , Dus Numbri , Laila Majnu , Nagin, Suntan , Shankar Dada , Mausam and Uljhan were the other major hits of the year. This was also the year of low budget flicks - Tapasya , Yashoda Krishna, Chhotisi Baat, Bajrangbali, Shankar Shambhu , Subse Bada Rupaiya ,  Chitchor and Toofan Aur Bijlee . Other box-office films which did  satisfactory business were Udhar Ka Sindur, Do Anjaane , Sangram , Maa, Nehle Pe Dehlaa , Rakshabandhan, Aap Beati ,Barood and Salaakhen . However, the biggest grosser of the year was undoubtedly Prakash Mehra's Hera Pheri and close on its heel was Kabhi Kabhie . Both films did business of 70 lacs to 80 Lacs per territory.

 

 Amitabh Bachchan whose sellability and popularity is rising day by day , seen a great advantage this year with Hera Pheri and Kabhi Kabhie,  both top two biggest grossers of the year . His another film Do Anjaane also managed to salvage at box-office.
