Fakira , Kalicharan, Charas , Dus Numbri , Laila Majnu , Nagin, Suntan , Shankar Dada, Mausam and Uljhan were the other major hits of the year. This was also the year of low budget flicks - Tapasya , Yashoda Krishna, Chhoti Si Baat, Bajrangbali, Shankar Shambhu , Subse Bada Rupaiya , Chitchor and Toofan Aur Bijlee . All these low budgeted flicks have done terrific business at box-office with no major stars. Other box-office films which did satisfactory business were Udhar Ka Sindur, Do Anjaane , Sangram , Maa , Nehle Pe Dehlaa , Rakshabandhan, Aap Beati Barood and Salaakhen . However, the biggest grosser of the year was undoubtedly Prakash Mehra's Hera Pheri and close on its heel was Kabhi Kabhie . Both Amitabh's starrers went on to rake 80 Lacs per territory business.
Many films this year were postponed due to emergency will be released next year. The most awaited film is Manmohan Desai 's Dharam Veer with Zeenat Aman, Jeetendra and Dharmendra.
Amitabh Bachchan whose sellability and popularity is rising day by day , seen a great advantage this year with Hera Pheri and Kabhi Kabhie, both top two biggest grossers of the year . His another film Do Anjaane also managed to salvage at box-office.
