B.R. Chopra's controversial film Naya Daur with the biggest box-office wizard Dilip Kumar, achieved unbelievable popularity and fame at box-office. It has recorded unheard collections at all stations and it is being said that , no film to date has recorded such extraordinary collections as B.R. Chopra's Naya Daur did. Naya Daur in Bombay circuit has nett grossed Rs. 14,98,649-5 out of which Rs. 2,13,698 was paid to entertainment tax , leaving nett collections of 12,84,951-5 . In the wake of astounding response in Bombay , the film in stations like Delhi (Rs. 16,86,997-45) , Ahmedabad (Rs. 2,50,752), Lucknow (Rs. 2,93,456-5) , Varanasi (Rs. 2,65,645), Kanpur (Rs. 1,67,878-45) ,Meerut (Rs. 2,24,979-67) , Hyderabad (Rs. 8,98,780-4), Pune (Rs. 1,52,002), Baroda (Rs. 97,890-45) , Jaipur (Rs. 3,97,567-6) , Jodhpur (Rs. 1,97,898-2) , Nagpur (Rs. 3,45,657-12) and Calcutta (Rs. 7,93,985-45) recorded tremendous box-office clouts. The collections in several parts are very encouraging and commendable where Hindi films hardly does moderate business.
On the other hand , Mehboob Khan's highly acclaimed Mother India is doing record business and is going super strong and the trade journal is expecting it to cross the magical box-office figures of BR Chopra's Naya Daur.
